Yarrow Silvers Wins East Anchorage Assembly Seat

Anchorage, AK – Yarrow Silvers declared victory today in the race for East Anchorage’s Assembly seat, thanking voters for their trust and belief in a campaign focused on affordable housing, public safety, and transparent, accountable leadership.

“While a few ballots remain to be counted, the unofficial election results reflect a clear victory, and I’m incredibly grateful to the people of East Anchorage for believing in what we’ve built together.” said Silvers. “This campaign was never just about politics. It was about people. Your stories, your struggles, and your hopes were at the heart of every step we took.”

A longtime community advocate, Silvers entered the race after years of organizing around housing and public safety. Her message of practical, people-first solutions resonated with voters ready for change.

“This win belongs to all of us,” she said. “To my family, our incredible campaign team, volunteers, and supporters—thank you. Your belief in me and in what’s possible for East Anchorage made this victory possible.”

Silvers plans to collaborate with Mayor LaFrance’s administration to address longstanding issues in East Anchorage, including revitalizing public spaces and cleaning up streets and parks to ensure neighborhoods are safe and welcoming again. She’ll also prioritize establishing a year-round, resource-rich model to support unhoused residents—one built on stability, dignity, and providing actionable pathways to self-sufficiency.

“I’ve always believed the best ideas come from the people closest to the challenges,” Silvers concluded. “East Anchorage has spoken clearly. Now it’s time to deliver.”

Silvers will be sworn in later this month and is already planning meetings with community leaders and residents to ensure East Anchorage plays a prominent role in moving Anchorage forward.
